We have a Tentative Agreement!
Posted Jul 24, 2021
We have reached a tentative agreement with some terrific improvements for nurses at Skagit! A more detailed list of changes will be forthcoming and a complete contract showing all changes will be available at ratification (date and place TBD). Quick highlights include:
WAGE INCREASES
Nurses will receive 3.25% in the second pay period following ratification (this is on top of the 3% wage increase everyone received in March); another 3% in the pay period following June 1, 2022; and 3% in the pay period following June 1, 2023. The contract expires May 31, 2024.
PREMIUMS
We negotiated increases in several premiums including charge nurse premium, resource nurse premiums and standby pay.
ANNUAL LEAVE
We negotiated 8 hours of Annual Leave as reimbursement for those nurses who were hired on or before August 8, 2011, who gave up significant AL ten years ago to help the Hospital. Those nurses will receive 4 hours this year and 4 hours next June.
STAFFING
We came to agreement on better language for the Staffing Committee and other proposals to help attract new nurses to Skagit and retain and value the nurses who continue to give so much to the Hospital. We’ve also improved language in the Nurse Practice Committee and other committees to improve our work and the care we deliver to our community.
More detailed information on the agreements reached and on the ratification vote will be available early this week. Remember, only WSNA members can vote on the contract and you can join at any time. Visit the wsna.org website to download an application.
Please say a special thank you to the team who bargained on your behalf with management. They have volunteered their time to do this and secure these improvements for all the Skagit nurses. Annual leave donations are gratefully accepted (contact HR for the donation form).
