General Assembly, bylaws amendments, and proposed resolutions
The General Assembly, held every odd-numbered year at WSNA's biennial Convention and open to all WSNA members in good standing, is the highest decision-making body within WSNA. Among its duties are considering and voting on proposed resolutions and proposed changes to the WSNA bylaws.
Resolutions passed by the General Assembly help determine the priorities of the association, and thereby directly affect the work of WSNA’s Board of Directors and staff for the ensuing biennium.
WSNA's bylaws are the foundational backbone of our organization. This integral framework is a living document that embodies our commitment to democratic governance, integrity, and the collective pursuit of excellence in the nursing profession. Here, you will discover how our association functions, our organizational structure, the rights and responsibilities of membership, and the guiding principles that navigate our journey toward enhancing healthcare standards.
Resolutions are the beating heart of progress within WSNA. They represent the dynamic, responsive process through which key issues are addressed, policies are influenced, and the collective voice of our members — nurses like you — is heard. Over the years, these resolutions have paved pathways for advocacy, heralding innovation, and improvement in healthcare environments, nursing practices, and community health outcomes.
