Update negotiations session #8

Friday was a marathon session for your team at the negotiations table. We are closer to management with regards to wages and we were able to agree on some other economic issue like standby pay and call back pay.

We are very happy to see that Skagit Regional Health management recognizes the efforts of nurses in contributing to the overall viability of the organization. This effort by nurses to contribute to the organization was evident a few negotiations cycles back when the nurses agreed to concede some PTO hours to help the hospitals bottom line. Management is working with your team to remedy this

What's next?

Our final pre-scheduled session for negotiations is this Friday, July 23, 2021. We have determined we would like to push as hard as we can to get a deal this Friday.

We need your help.

Management needs to visually see that the nurses at Skagit are in support of the efforts of their elected officers. The very best way is to be visible in the facilities wearing WSNA buttons and/or displaying our “fix Nursing Staffing Now” car signs in the parking lot. Management notices these things!

We still have Car signs:

Your nurse rep Sue Dunlap and WSNA organizer Annie Mansfield will be in the cafeteria outdoor courtyard on Wednesday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will have swag and car signs and buttons to hand out! Come by, say “hi”, bring your questions and sign up for a random drawing.

Get the Community Involved!

We have a hashtag campaign going as well. Many of you have community contacts who would post a car sign in their business window. Please take a photo and post on your social media account using the hashtag #SupportSkagitRNs so we can search for those photos and also share. It’s a great way to get our message out and support local businesses.

Use the Skagit Facebook Frame:

This is an easy way to call attention to the issues we are facing and have some conversation about why it’s important to recruit and retain skilled nurses and why staffing is so critical to the care of our community members. Download the Facebook Frame by going to http://www.facebook.com/profil...

Thank you for all you do for each other and for the community that we serve. Remember to exercise some self-care in these challenging times. Your negotiation team is here for YOU!
