TK Kate Jess trio

Kickoff Event this Monday!

Join us on Monday from 0700-1230 and 1530-2030 for our Bargaining Kickoff Event! We will have union shirts, a chance to meet your negotiating team to ask questions and talk about your priorities, free food, gift card drawings, a photo booth, and so much more! The kickoff event will be located outside the hospital on 17th and J St., across from the Outpatient Entrance. Look for the WSNA banner! For more details, check out the Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/share/v3CrYEU6yp28xhw5/.

First Day of Bargaining: August 21

On August 21st, we'll be having our first negotiations session. Make sure to wear your WSNA blue (and send pictures to @sjmc_wsna on Instagram!) For the first bargaining session, it will just be your WSNA team - but future negotiations will be open to observers who want to come and see what it takes to get a contract. Observers can sign up for negotiations at the kickoff event, or email glamonte@wsna.org if they'd like to observe future sessions (details will be provided closer to the next bargaining session). Please make sure you read through the observer guidelines here before signing up.

Unit Reps Needed!

As we start bargaining, we're looking for nurses to take on the crucial role of Unit Rep at St. Joes. Unit Reps strengthen our Bargaining Unit during negotiations by helping collect signatures on petitions, keeping their coworkers informed on what's happening at the table, and communicating their unit's perspective to the negotiating team. We'll be hosting hour-long virtual training sessions over the next few months. Please fill out the form below if you're interested in learning more!

Complete the form

Whether you're still contemplating the idea or ready to dive in, we encourage you to attend a training session to get a better understanding of the role. Current Unit Reps are welcome to join!

Do you have experience as an international nurse?

We are interested to hear from nurses at St. Joe’s who have international experience. It’s come to our attention that nurses with experience outside of America and Canada may have received only 50% credit for their years of experience when coming to work at St. Joseph Medical Center. For example, a nurse who worked in the Philippines for 6 years before coming to SJMC may have only received 3 years of credit. We want to know how widespread this issue is, and we need your help to find out. If you have worked as an RN outside of the United States, please fill out the below form and let us know about your experience when coming to work for SJMC or other VMFH facilities.

You can fill out the survey here.

Stay in the Loop!

Make sure you're following our Instagram, @sjmc_wsna, and have joined our private Facebook group (ask your unit rep to add you if you're not already on it). As we approach negotiations, it's crucial to read the email updates and stay informed about what's happening at the table.
