Leave MOU and Contract TA info sessions
Posted Jan 8, 2021
To all King County Public Health Nurse Supervisors,
This message is to alert you that WSNA has negotiated an extension of the MOU providing for paid administrative leave of up to 80 hours for absences related to COVID-19.
The previous MOU expired on December 31, 2020. Leading up to the expiration of the MOU, and since it expired, WSNA has been working hard to negotiate an extension to ensure that WSNA-represented King County employees are able to access this important benefit, while also working to ensure that nurses are not forced to make other concessions in order to receive this benefit. Specifically, the County had initially proposed language that would allow nurses to be moved into other classifications – language that WSNA believed to be inappropriate and unnecessary.
We were able to negotiate an agreement that removed this language and also extended free parking in Goat Hill until July 5, 2021. If you have any difficulty accessing benefits under the new MOU, please contact our WSNA nurse representative Sydne James at sjames@wsna.org.
All Supervisors are encouraged to attend a Q&A/info session where we will discuss the changes to our contract that all members are voting on now. We have scheduled two dates and times for your convenience. (Look for your ballot in the mail. If you did not receive it and believe that you should have, contact our nurse rep).
