Official launch of strike assessment and preparations
We have officially launched preparations to strike, and nurses have turned out! WSNA is actively providing training to the 90 plus newly-formed Rapid Response Organizers. Hundreds and hundreds of nurses turned out for local unit meetings to get their questions answered about striking, signed strike commitment petitions and signed up for strike committees. Solidarity is in the air.
Three things you can do to take part in our strike preparations:
- Sign the strike commitment petition and pledge that “If it is necessary, I will vote to authorize a strike, join my co-workers on strike and participate in picketing on all of my assigned picket shifts.”
- Sign up for strike committee.*
- Be informed, stay engaged.
Talking to the Public
As we launch the strike preparation and assessments, there will be questions from your colleagues, patients and the public. How we talk about our bargaining efforts at Sacred Heart matters. That’s why we’ve put together some guidance on what you can say to educate those who may ask about our issues – and get them on our side!
