Contract posted. The fight continues for our breaks
Posted Sep 10, 2024
Thanks for your patience and persistence about getting our contract posted. It's finally here. Note, it will be watermarked as "Final Draft" until we get all the signatures; but all parties have agreed on this being approved and FINAL. For any questions, please contact our WSNA Officers or WSNA Nurse Rep.
The fight continues for our breaks!
Join us for Sip and Chat tonight - Tuesday, September 10 at 8 pm.
We'll talk about taking action to get our breaks back. This is a great opportunity to get updated and to speak to us about your issues and concerns.
Turn the fair BLUE
The final MultiCare Fair Day is this Thursday, September 12. Let's turn the fairgrounds "WSNA BLUE" by wearing your WSNA shirts. If you're able to help us hand out fliers at the Red Gate from 3-6 pm, please let us know so we can coordinate. The fliers will have a link to a petition for nurses and the community.
Sign up using the link below to help at the gate.
Take action - Make MultiCare uncomfortable
- We need to see more WSNA blue on Fridays.
- Wear your WSNA T-shirts; temporary tattoos; break stickers and buttons.
- ADOs - Assignment Despite Objection for missed breaks and break buddies.
- Kronos Attestation for missed rest and meal breaks.
- Fill out the Break Tracking Form on your unit so we can track missed breaks, why they were missed, and who gave breaks (break nurse, break buddy, flex, or charge).
- Take pics showing your union pride and post on WSNA Good Sam social media sites.
- Other Actions... Let's talk about that at Sip and Chat.
T-Shirts
Need a T-Shirt? We have ordered more small and medium shirts. (Still have a few left). There are plenty of Large, XL and 2XL available.
We'll do more distribution when the new shirts arrive.
In the mean time, if you need a shirt (any size), please notify your union unit rep, WSNA officer, or WSNA Nurse Representative.
WSNA Group Grievance on Break MOU
On 8/29, WSNA met with management for the Step 2 Grievance. Thank you to the officers who gave great testimony to help make the case for the need to follow our contractual Break Memorandum of Understanding. Management's response is due NLT 9/13. If we do not get agreement, WSNA will advance the grievance to Step 3. If there is still no agreement, we have mediation and arbitration in our toolbox.
