Bargaining Survey Is Here
Time to complete our bargaining survey! It takes just a few minutes and will allow your WSNA bargaining team to understand and fight for your priorities.
WSNA and UWMC will be going back into bargaining in spring of 2025 for the contract beginning July 1, 2025.
Your opinion matters and it is the responses to our survey that drive our bargaining priorities.
Our UWMC bargaining team members ask you to take a few minutes to fill out this survey prior to the January 4, 2025, deadline.

Union Busting Emails…Don’t believe the hype!
RNs recently contacted WSNA notifying us that they had received yet another round of Union-busting email on their UW email accounts. These Foundations are funded by big business and aim at chipping away the strength of worker’s voices by way of Unions in the NW.
WSNA has instructed our members to place these senders in the “Junk” email or simply “Block Sender”.
Your voice in the workplace makes all the difference. You are WSNA!
Don’t be fooled by false seduction and some sort of money savings. RNs have strength in numbers.
Your strength can only be achieved by being a member of WSNA and having a voice about your working conditions through WSNA.
There is an adage that says “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu…”
Here at WSNA, we agree by continuing to go head-to-head with the employer to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
Tell the folks at Opt-Out-Today to get lost and stop pestering the WSNA registered nurses at UWMC.
We know better.
UWMC Unit Clarification Appeal
Hot off the press!
UWMC appealed WSNA’s original Unit Clarification victory.
This was a Unit Clarification that was initiated by the employer that tried to combine UWMC ML and NW as a single bargaining Unit so that they could unilaterally decide to float RNs back and forth between hospitals without those RNs having a choice.
Here is the Unit Clarification Appeal Conclusion:
The legislature did not include the employer in RCW 41.80.070(3). As a result, we conclude the legislature intended to prevent employers, under RCW 41.80.070(3), from filing petitions to merge bargaining units represented by a single employee organization. Accordingly, the UW did not have standing under the statute to file a unit clarification petition to combine the two bargaining units represented by the WSNA.
Another fantastic victory for WSNA and UWMC ML and NW RNs!
Thanks to everyone who helped gather information, testified and helped bring this to the finish line.
Class Action Lawsuit
This class action is not new....it appears to have started over a year ago.
WSNA is not involved at this time and will likely remain neutral, however, we are suggesting RNs explore their options related to this lawsuit and whether it may apply to you and your experience.
We can’t say exactly what this lawsuit is alleging but it appears to suggest unpaid wages by a system of rounding within Kronos that ultimately did not pay wages due.
This appears to be open to current and former employees.
"Wage Theft" is definitely a hot-button topic in the courts right now.
