St. Luke's Ratification
Posted Nov 19, 2024
Congratulations! On November 13, 2024, you and your fellow WSNA nurses voted to ratify the tentative agreement between your Union and Management for the 2024-2027 Contract. What does this mean? This means a majority of the nurses at St. Luke’s voted YES to accepting the new contract. Ratification or ratify means to sign or give consent to validate something, in this case, a labor contract.
Your WSNA team is hard at work cleaning up the document with all the formatting changes and will have it posted to your local unit page soon. You can find that page here. On this page you will also find your local unit officers, your Nurse Representative’s information, your contract, historical documents, and the membership application. If you have any questions about language changes or contract violations, contact one of your officers or your Nurse Representative.
What happens now?
Your new contract is in effect. The raises and first retention bonus will be paid the second full pay period after November 13, 2024.
How can I help?
There is so much work to be done outside of negotiations that matters just as much. Our number one goal is building solidarity- helping nurses understand what their Union can do and what they can accomplish together as one loud, united voice. We want our nurses to know their contracts and know their rights. Here’s how you can get involved.
- Union membership- Join WSNA today. When you become a member, it shows management that nurses are paying attention.
- Watch your email for the next newsletter coming 11/22/24. Update your email address if you don’t receive our communications (check your junk folder!)
- Become an officer for your nurses. We have two openings for a WSNA Officer. The time commitment is small with most of our meetings taking place quarterly. Being an officer can get you more exposure to the labor movement and help advocate for safe working conditions.
- Join a committee- with the ratification of this contract, we need a nurse for our Safety/ Workplace Violence committee. These meetings are typically monthly for one hour.
Tell your local officers thank you! Pictured below on the day they reached their agreement, these officers met for 13 sessions over 7 months on your behalf.
