From Parking Lot to Break Room to Bedside - Nurses Deserve to be Safe at Work!

We are pleased that management has felt our petition's pressure and started to take nurses' security more seriously by implementing a pilot program where visitors will have to badge in — near identical to a proposal WSNA made at Virginia Mason Medical Center that management said they couldn't do.

Make sure you sign our petition demanding that CNO Andrew Baxter prioritize nurse safety and meet with us in an open forum to hear our concerns and voice our stories. Ask your unit rep or a bargaining team member for a petition or print a copy here! Navigating Negotiations as a Union Nurse: This Monday on 9/30!

As a new nurse—or new to being a union nurse—facing a negotiation campaign can feel like you're sailing through uncharted waters. Rumors and tall tales can stir up the seas, making it hard to find your bearings.

To help guide you through the negotiation process, clarify what to expect on the horizon, and give you an inside look at how we navigate bargaining, we invite you to a special event hosted by the bargaining team. Join us at 7 Seas Brewery in Tacoma on 9/30/2024 from 1700-2100. There will be free food and non-alcoholic beverages; if you fancy a pint, the brewery will have beer available. Whether it's your day off, you're heading in for your night shift, or just getting off work, feel free to swing by! This event has information for new nurses and those new to the union, but we encourage all St. Joe's WSNA nurses to attend. It's a great chance to meet your bargaining team, connect with colleagues, and enjoy a relaxing evening together.
