Baylor Shifts Are Now Posted
The Baylor Innovative Weekend Shifts—which we fought hard to win at the bargaining table—are now officially posted. These positions are designed to improve weekend staffing and work-life balance. Available Baylor shifts include:
- 1 – Recovery Services
- 1 – 5th Floor Cardiac ICU
- 1 – PCU
- 2 – NICU
- 2 – Surgery Services
- 1 – CN, Surgery Services
Check the internal job posting site to apply. If you're selected for one of these roles, let us know—your feedback is essential. We’ll be reviewing the effectiveness of these positions through the Hospital Staffing Committee, and your voice helps us evaluate what’s working and what needs fixing.
Hospital Staffing Committee Update
The next Hospital Staffing Committee (HSC) meets on April 7, 2025, at 0900 in MOB Conference Room A. This meeting includes the semi-annual review of staffing plans for the following departments:
- Cardiac Rehab
- Invasive Cardiac Services
- Pre-Admit Clinic
- Main OR
- Walter’s OR
- GI Services
- Interventional Pain Care
- Gig Harbor Same Day Surgery
- IV Therapy
We need nurses in the room to hold management accountable. If you work in or float to these departments, show up and speak up.
In particular, IV Therapy has a staffing plan that includes night shift coverage, but management eliminated that coverage and rebid the positions. If night shift IV Therapy coverage matters to you or your patients, this is your chance to demand accountability.
Sign-On Bonus Overpayment Update
We’re still waiting on crucial information from the employer regarding the sign-on bonus overpayments. In the meantime, we’ve secured an extension: no repayment is due before April 15, 2025.
You deserve clarity—and we’ll make sure you get it before that deadline. Stay tuned.
