Update from sixth negotiation session
Posted Mar 16, 2022
We met for our 6th negotiation session on March 15. Thanks again to our observers for their support.
We gave management a comprehensive economic counter-proposal that will compensate nurses fairly. We again proposed that the Hospital recognize Juneteenth. We addressed the gross disparity between PeaceHealth’s messaging to us and the community regarding Juneteenth, versus management’s dismissive response to our proposal at the bargaining table. They had nothing to say after that.
Management proposed vague, conceptual ideas regarding a graduate nurse orientation program; we asked about details and logistics and are waiting for responses.
Management broke at noon despite telling us that they would be back in the afternoon. Our team continued working until late in the day.
Our next negotiation dates are Monday, March 28, and Tuesday, March 29. We will be inviting observers again, so watch for an update with sign-ups.
WATCH FOR ACTIONS!
T-shirts are on the way. A distribution plan will be announced. We will need everyone’s help, and please email hwelander@wsna.org if you can volunteer with distribution.
WSNA buttons coming soon! We will be distributing buttons very soon! We want management to know that the members are watching what’s going on.
