EIB Survey, Negotiation Updates, Town Halls, and More

As we return to the bargaining table on April 17 and 18, we’re building momentum—and we need every nurse standing strong together. We’re continuing to collect picket pledges, so if you haven’t signed yet, reach out to a board member or your nurse rep, Jared (jrichardson@wsna.org), and we’ll make sure you get one.

Informational Picket Prep

Signing a picket pledge is a critical step toward launching an informational picket. If you’re wondering what a pledge means, why we’re asking for it, or what an informational picket actually is—check out our Q&A.

To be clear: an informational picket is not a strike. If you’re scheduled to work that day, you still report to work—but join us during your meal and rest breaks. If you’re denied a break, fill out an ADO immediately.

Winning the strong, fair contract we deserve will take all of us—united, engaged, and ready to act. Read on for how you can take part as we prepare to head back into bargaining next week.

EIB Survey Now Open

We know you feel strongly about EIB – now we need your voice! Please take a few minutes to complete the EIB survey so we know what’s most important to you. It will close on Monday, April 14 at midnight—don’t wait. You can fill it out by using the link or scanning the QR code below.

Come Observe Negotiations

All nurses are welcome to observe negotiations on April 17 and 18. Please arrive on 4/17 by 0915 wearing your WSNA blue and ready to walk stickers. If you haven’t read the observer guidelines yet, take a moment to review them.

Feeling creative? Still need to sign a picket pledge? Need to get out of the house after spring break? Join us for a sign-making party at Lost Giants Brewery on April 13. The space is kid- and dog-friendly—come make signs, connect with fellow nurses, and enjoy some union solidarity. More details to come.

Hospice Town Hall – Tonight

Hospice nurses, we want to hear from you. Join us tonight from 1730–1900 for a virtual town hall focused on your specific concerns. This is your chance to share issues directly with the board and your nurse rep. Join here. While the meeting is open to all, the focus will remain on hospice-specific issues. Over the coming weeks, we’ll host virtual town halls for various other units as well.

Call Units Town Halls – April 22 and 24

We know nurses who take call are facing serious challenges. We want to listen, and we want to share the ideas we’re developing to fight for improvements. To reach as many of you as possible, we’re hosting two virtual town halls:

  • April 22 from 2000–2100
  • April 24 from 2000–2100
Links will be sent out next week—stay tuned.

Thank you to every nurse who has stepped up, spoken out, and stood together to advocate for our patients, our coworkers, and our profession. We’re proud to fight alongside you to make St. Joe’s the safe, supportive workplace we all deserve.

In solidarity,
Laura Bayes, Robin Cully, Jenn Engelhart, Rhonda Tull, Tracy Pullar, Amber Pouley, Jen Hampton, Kristin Malmo, Errin Hull, and Kelly Carroll
