Session 6…slow moving...
Posted Jun 14, 2019
Our sixth session with management was slow moving and did not produce any tentative agreements. We did receive management's insulting economic proposal, which was 2% increase in wages the first full pay period after ratification, 2% February 1, 2020 and 2% February 2021. No retro, no bonus.
Most of the day was spent discussing low census, new employee orientation, workplace violence and the workplace violence committee. Unfortunately, management still wants the committee to only be advisory. We do not agree. Nurses are on the front line and need to have a real voice about how to keep staff and patients safe!
We have scheduled two more days in June to negotiate. We are hopeful to achieve a tentative agreement during one of those sessions. The dates are as follows:
- June 20
- June 27
Would you like to help the negotiating team and get more involved in your WSNA local unit by becoming a Unit Rep? Our goal is to have at least one Unit Rep on every unit and every shift. It is fun, rewarding and important work! Please contact your Local Unit Officers or Nurse Rep if you are interested or would like more information.
Together we are strong, together we win!
In Solidarity,
Your Negotiating Team: Kimberly Russell, Tony Endrizzi, Clairissa Korrell, Jocelyn Rogers, Patrick Williams, Tessa Zuidhoff
