Premiums and Differentials Update
Thanks to all your efforts, the employer has acknowledged that premium and differential increases should have taken effect on March 2, 2025, per the new contract. They’ve committed to back pay for all nurses who worked between March 2 and March 15. To make that happen, they must audit hours worked during that period. While they've requested to place our grievance in abeyance until April 30, we’ve agreed—but we are holding their feet to the fire. Nurses are owed this money, and we will continue to push for timely payment.
Low Census and Float Grievance Update
The grievance addressing improper low census assignments following contract ratification is still active. We are fighting for every nurse who was shortchanged to be made whole. While this grievance moves forward, we’ve already secured important fixes: charge nurses now control the low census and float rosters on their units.
If you believe you're being floated improperly or placed on low census outside of contract rules, speak up—contact your nurse rep at JRichardson@WSNA.org.
New Incentive for Call Shifts
We’re hearing troubling claims from peri-op and OR management—that shifts picked up after the schedule posts are “voluntary” and not eligible for incentives. Let’s be clear: they’re wrong.
If you pick up an open shift—whether it’s due to a sick call, LOA, or staffing shortage—you are eligible for the incentive we bargained for. If management denies your incentive, report it immediately to Jared at JRichardson@WSNA.org.
Sign-On Bonus Overpayments
We are still waiting on full details about the employer’s sign-on bonus overpayment errors. In the meantime, we’ve secured another extension: no repayment is due before April 15, 2025.
We will update all affected nurses as soon as we get more clarity. You will not navigate this alone.
