Bargaining Update: Live from the Negotiating Table!
Posted Jan 17, 2025
Today marks our second day at the bargaining table, and we’re not slowing down. With the weekend ahead, we want to keep you informed now and will share more updates next week.
We’ve already made bold proposals to address key issues that impact our work and our patients. Here’s the update so far!
- TENTATIVE AGREEMENT! Floating Order: Management agreed to our proposal in which travelers float first, protecting permanent staff from constant disruption.
- We proposed Baylor Shifts: Creating dedicated weekend-only Baylor shift positions in which nurses work two x 12-hour shifts but get paid for 36 hours.
- Hospital Resource Pool (HRP): Formalizing the HRP
- Staffing Committee & Grievance Process: Strengthening the language to hold management accountable and empower nurses.
We’ve met with Management once already, and expect to meet again before we end today. We plan on putting down our economic proposals later today.
Come observe today for the rest of the afternoon (until 5 or so)! We’re in the Resource Center classroom. Contact any officer or Rep Jared Richardson at jrichardson@wsna.org for details.
