Who do you want to represent you as WSNA local unit leadership for the next three years?

Local Unit Officers

Your WSNA officers at Snohomish County Health Department are volunteer leaders who are elected or appointed by their WSNA member peers. The last contract negotiations have shown that there are staff nurses who not only care about the well-being and working conditions you share, but they are also trusted and respected by their peers to promote your collective agency in the workplace. Truly bringing a strong contract to life means the represented nurses stand in defense of it by running for office, participating in contractual committees, inviting their peers to become engaged WSNA members, and supporting the local unit’s goals.

Snohomish County Health Department nurses ARE WSNA!

In this way, the morale of the local unit is improved from within by knowing and exercising the rights you have as union nurses. The time is now to submit nominations for WSNA officers who will represent the staff nurses for the next three years. Current officer positions openings are for two co-chair positions. The chairs participate in contract negotiations, attend our joint Labor-Management meetings to collaborate on issues on behalf of our members and support members dealing with potential contract violations and disciplinary issues.

If you would like to nominate yourself or a peer for either of these positions, please send the name of the RN to your nurse rep (gchesterman@wsna.org). Self-nominations are encouraged, and training is provided. Speak with the RN you are nominating to let them know you see them as a leader who is receiving your support for nomination.

Only WSNA members may nominate and vote in officer elections. All those nominated who are interested in running must be a WSNA member and must complete a consent to serve form to be listed on the voting ballot.

If you have questions about these positions, please feel free to reach out to Nurse Rep Grace Chesterman (gchesterman@wsna.org) or any current officer.

Nominations will close November 15, 2024.
