Congrats on your new contract!

With a sweeping unanimous vote, you have ratified your new contract for 2024-2026! The contract will now go to the County Council for final approval next week, and we are aiming for an effective date of October 1, 2024. We have been told by the County that it may take up to two months to get your retro pay calculated and paid, but we have been very clear that it needs to be prioritized to be completed by the end of the year to avoid tax implications. The full contract will be posted on your WSNA website once it is approved by the Council and signed.
I want to take a moment to thank your incredible officers, Susan Babcock and Sue Starr, for their tireless work on this contract over the past 11 months. They fought hard for all of your priorities to be heard and were able to mesh together the short interim contract from 2023 with the longer 2021-2022 contract. It was a monumental task to accomplish, and they did an incredible job supporting their coworkers. We will have elections for new officers coming up in the next two months, so please keep an eye out on your emails for a update about the process and consider joining the officer team.
If you have any questions about the new contract, especially if you didn't get a chance to come by and discuss the changes during the vote, please feel free to reach out to your nurse rep, Grace Chesterman (gchesterman@wsna.org) any time. We are finally in the home stretch after a long-fought battle to get you the contract that you all deserve!
