Children’s nurses have spoken about their strong opposition to the hospital leave and benefits proposal. We heard you loud and clear. Therefore, your team rejected the leave and benefits proposal and presented an economic proposal during our negotiation session on August 12 which maintains the status quo in terms of leaves and benefits. Unfortunately, management responded with a tone-deaf counter proposal that continued to push for the hospital’s leave and benefit package. This counter primarily included some transition language for sick time and vacation accruals as well as a small delay in the implementation of cost-sharing for premiums. Management also proposed a small wage increase in year three.

We did reach one tentative agreement which honors longevity on night shift after 2 years.

Your team continues to advocate for a fair contract. Our next sessions are on August 28 and 29.
