Letter of Understanding: Unit Schedulers VOTE!
Posted Mar 12, 2025
Over the past month, your local unit officers have been meeting with management for purposes of impact bargaining as it pertains to the work of the RN Unit Scheduler. With the transition to Symplr, this work will be going away. Because of this, your strong team of nurses were able to secure this benefit for a longer duration of time for the WSNA RNs than what would have occurred otherwise.
What is the current benefit and purpose of the Unit Scheduler? Unit Schedulers are RNs in the bargaining unit who work to address scheduling needs of the nurses when time off is requested. Their work helps to simplify the process for the nurses, because it gives them a person to go to, speak directly with and communicate direct needs or concerns. With the new central scheduling system, Peace Health is eliminating this work, but not just yet. The tentative agreement reached titled “Letter of Understanding: Unit Schedulers” will now ensure our WSNA nurses have this personal connection and benefit for the coming months if ratified.
WSNA is recommending a “YES” vote.
MAKE NOTE! This vote will be held electronically only and NOT in person. The date and time when voting is to open is still being determined. We will notify you when it’s set to begin. Ballots will be delivered via email. If you are not getting WSNA emails, please reach out to Jaclyn Smedley BSN, RN at jsmedley@wsna.org asap so we can promptly determine the issue and fix it before the start of the vote. Please note that only members in good standing are eligible to vote.
The Letter of Understanding which you will vote on will be sent to nurses when the voting opens so you may view it prior to casting your vote.
