We need you! WSNA Contract Committees call for nominations

Benefits Committee

New! With the new contract, three positions for WSNA members were secured in negotiations. The purpose of this committee to be formed will advise about health benefits, coverage, and costs. This is a high priority for so many nurses! We are seeking folks who feel strongly about affordable, accessible health benefits for Overlake RN’s and their peers. We will have more information about the launch of the committee and will update the nurses. Are you dissatisfied with the cost and coverage of benefits and want to do something about it? This is your chance to have a seat at the table and have your voice heard. Don’t be shy and don’t delay, open enrollment is not far away😊

The Hospital Staffing Committee

This committee has grown and strengthened over the past few years, but we need you to make it work consistently well. The committee meets once a month for 90 minutes, is paid time and release to participate is provided if a nurse is at work that day. Currently, the committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday at 1 pm in-person and virtually. There are vacancies for the following departments:

Labor and Delivery

PPU

NICU

South 5

East 4

Heart and Vascular

PACU

PCU

IR/IMI

Rad/Onc

New and returning members can anticipate two options for training in early September.

What to do now?

To nominate yourself or a peer for any of these positions, include the name of the RN and the position(s) for which they are being nominated in an email to Nurse Representative Tara Barnes tbarnes@wsna.org. Self-nominations are encouraged and training is provided for all positions. Speak with the RN you are nominating to let them know you see them as a trusted and respected RN peer who is receiving your support for nomination.

Only WSNA members may be nominated for these committees and are appointed by your WSNA officers. If you are not yet a WSNA member and want to serve on the committee, you can easily join today online and then email me with your nomination.
