Get ready! Information sessions and electronic voting begin April 7

A communication was sent to WSNA RNs at Overlake on March 21, announcing that we reached a tentative agreement (TA) with Overlake regarding their policy and practices related to body worn cameras (BWCs) that includes closed circuit television (CCTV).

The next steps are for the WSNA members to prepare to vote on this memorandum of understanding (MOU):

  1. Read the TA summary
  2. Nurses are encouraged to attend one of the three virtual information sessions to receive a presentation and have an opportunity to ask questions about the MOU on Monday April 7 at 10 am, 5 pm or 8 pm. Here is the link to join any of these options:

The vote window is between April 7 at 8 pm through April 9 at 8 pm.  A unique voting key is provided to each WSNA vote-eligible member.  If a non-member submits a membership application during the vote window, please contact the Nurse Representative Tara Barnes tbarnes@wsna.org  The new members will then be provided a unique voting key to secure an electronic ballot.
  4. To help support electronic voting for the first time at Overlake, WSNA staff will be available on campus to assist current and new members with the process. You are not required to come in-person to vote, but you may do so if you need help with your voting key or have questions that you’d like to ask in-person on Tuesday April 8th in the PACCAR Insight conference room:

    8 am-noon
    1 pm- 4 pm
    5 pm-9 pm
  5. Do not delay! Non-members can join WSNA to become eligible to vote using the online application.
I am pleased we came to agreement that respects just cause and Just Culture for our Overlake nurses and that we can look forward to better communication, education and training. We definitely recommend a YES vote!”
