Bargaining update

Today, March 27, we met with a mediator from the Public Employment Relations Commission for our 13th bargaining session. This was our first meeting with the mediator. We discussed many topics that are still open in negotiations, including but not limited to wages, insurance, use of PTO, and meal and rest breaks. New ideas were discussed between the bargaining team and mediator to try and get the nurses and management closer to an agreement for a fair contract.

The mediator was able to bring new suggestions for where we could reach an agreement between the nurses and management. After speaking with the bargaining team to go over our open proposals, our mediator was able to formulate several ideas and options that appealed to the bargaining team. The mediator then took this information to management to gauge management's reactions to these suggestions.

After the management meeting, our mediator returned to the bargaining team with an update. At this time no new agreements have been reached between WSNA and management. Our mediator is meeting with management to continue working through our open proposals and assessing where we can make additional progress. The bargaining team will meet with the mediator on April 16 to continue working on our top priorities. Our next day at the table with management and the mediator will be April 29. We are still looking for PTO donations for the bargaining team. Anything helps!
