Continue to Show Unity with your Bargaining Unit
- Wear your WSNA T-Shirts EVERY Friday and on bargaining days.
- Wear your “I support my bargaining team” stickers EVERY Friday and on Bargaining days
- Wear your “Breaks for Safety” buttons EVERY day.
- File ADOs every day you miss your meal and rest breaks and also indicate so in Kronos. It’s imperative that we have the documentation that shows breaks are being missed.
If your manager asks you to take off your WSNA t-shirt, ask if you’ll be disciplined if you don’t comply and ask why they are asking you to take it off. If the answer is yes, comply and let them know you’ll be notifying your union rep.
Stay United, Stay Strong, Stay Blue.
- February Blue Fridays – February 10, 17, 24
- February Negotiations Days – Thursday Feb 16 and Thursday Feb 23.

Safe Staffing Bill
This week the Senate Labor & Commerce Committee passed safe staffing standards (Senate Bill 5236) out of committee. Now the bill heads to the Senate Ways & Means Committee, where it will receive another public hearing and require passage out of that committee prior to a full vote on the Senate floor.
During the Jan. 17 Senate Labor hearing, more than 2,000 healthcare workers and patient advocates signed up in support of the bill – more than twice the hospital executives who signed up in opposition.
Safe staffing standards would protect nurses and other healthcare workers from being assigned dangerously high patient loads, which will ensure hospital executives hire enough staff to ensure worker and patient safety. Importantly, safe staffing standards are the solution healthcare workers have called for to address the burnout and unsafe working conditions that have led to the statewide hospital staffing crisis.
Take Action – Send a brief message to your Legislator in support of the Safe Staffing Bill. It’s quick and easy to do.
If you have questions or want to get more involved in our contract campaign, contact any of the bargaining team members or WSNA Nurse Representative Janet Stewart jstewart@wsna.org.
