Session 2 bargaining update
Posted Oct 29, 2021
On Friday, we met for bargaining session number two. We used this opportunity to express our disappointment in the initial proposal from Evergreen. Some items we were particularly disappointed in include:
- Reduced Rest Between Shift pay
- Reduced pay for RNs working call shifts
- Increased probation periods making it easier to terminate nurses
Each RN on the team spoke at length about the conditions on our units including understaffing and mandatory OT, and the toll these issues are taking on our personal lives and on the quality of our patient care. We’ve been very clear with management that there are serious issues that need to be addressed. Management says they hear us, but we need to see a response that shows they are taking our concerns seriously.
In unity,
Your bargaining team:
Alicia O’Neal – Hospice Center
Beth Volk – 7 Silver OSN
Holly Baker – ED – Local Unit Treasurer
Jamie Amick – PACU
Jennifer Wilson – OR
Karen Lasota – Home Hospice
Lexi Overa – ED
Sandy Gott – FMC – Grievance Officer
Theresa Blazer – FMC – Local Unit Chair
