News you can use

April 1, 2025

Our Mares bargaining team is planning to meet with Central's bargaining team this week. We hope to forge a path forward that gives both campuses bargaining power and builds solidarity as a single unit.

As you know, we have spent the last 28 sessions building out contract language that covers most of the issues important to the nurses at Mares. Central nurses care about many of the same issues, so we’re looking forward to sharing the gains we’ve made at the table to help get both teams to the finish line. The Mares team is busy behind the scenes working on the next steps, and as soon as we have those details, we will update you.

For now, check out our most recent newsletter here. In Labor Union 101, we cover what to do when you think a meeting with a manager could lead to discipline. You can also learn how to sign up for a scholarship to the WSNA Convention in Tacoma, read about our legislative work, and find out who won Pybus bucks from our photo contest!
