Turn Mares Campus blue!
Posted Sep 25, 2024
We return to the bargaining table tomorrow, September 26 for our 20th session of negotiations. That’s right. 20. Did you know members of our bargaining team have attended 19 sessions with Management? Our last few sessions have been good, and we are making progress, but now is the time to cross the finish line and reach a full tentative agreement! This is a major milestone in union representation for the current and future nurses at the Mares Campus and Wenatchee valley area. WE are making a difference in our community and our profession.
We need YOU to help us cross the finish line!
First things first
Say thank you to a bargaining team member today!! They are in it for the long haul and for every nurse at Mares!

Attend bargaining as an observer
This helps keep our process transparent and holds management accountable. Come hear from management yourself. Join us by 10am for the morning session or 1pm for the afternoon. Our session tomorrow is at the Confluence Technology Center, 285 Technology Center Way #102, Wenatchee. Text Jenny, 206-707-2948 for details.
Become an eligible voting WSNA member today
Membership matters. We are very close to reaching agreement on several hot topics at the bargaining table. Some of those are retirement, wage placement, membership security and shift start/ stop times on some units. When you become a member management knows nurses are paying attention. This will help the team cross the finish line on issues important to you!
Were you recently a WSNA member at Central?
We’ve had nurses ask if their membership at Central crosses over to Mares. If you are currently employed at Central, in addition to your role at Mares your membership can be applicable at both places. You would only pay member dues at one location. This is also true if you are a WSNA member at another WSNA represented facility in the area, like Cascade or Kittitas for example. If you left Central and took a position at Mares a new membership application is needed.
*Please note member dues cannot be deducted until we have reached a full tentative agreement on our first contract and your bargaining unit votes to approve it. We’ll let you know when that is!
Turn Mares Blue!
Wear your blue scrubs, WSNA t shirt, “I support my bargaining team” button or sticker (found on your WSNA bulletin board). Why? It shows management that the nurses at Mares are listening and following negotiations. To get a fair contract now we need every nurse supporting the bargaining efforts in the manner they are able. Not working tomorrow? Wear your WSNA t shirt in the community and send us a picture! We still have WSNA T-shirts available if you want one.
Let’s spice it up and add a twist this time. Every picture sent in will be entered into a drawing. The team will pick a number and award a prize! Prizes could be coffee, lunch or snacks delivered to your break room! We don’t know what it will be yet- but it’ll be something good!
Please send your pictures in by the end of the day Sept. 26.
Here are some pictures you’ve seen before but shine light on the unity we’ve built over the past year! Use them as inspo for the pics you take and send to us tomorrow. Text or email them to a bargaining team member or Jenny Galassi, 206-707-2948.
