Kickoff event and more

Kickoff1

Kickoff Event Success!

Thanks to everyone who was able to show up to our kickoff event Tuesday – tons of nurses came by to show Central that we are UNION STRONG! Our first day of negotiations is around the corner and we're so excited to stand together as a united front for our patients, coworkers, and community.

Nurses were supplied with snacks and FREE Bomb Burritos. We also want you to know that Bomb Burrito generously donated hot/iced coffee drinks and flavored lotus. We love supporting local business.

Another t- shirt pickup soon!

Stay tuned for our next WSNA t-shirt and swag distribution event! We want to make sure every nurse has their blue shirt and is ready for our bargaining “Bluesday’s”. Wearing our WSNA t shirts on bargaining days is one way we can support the bargaining team in negotiations.

Come observe negotiations!

After our first negotiation session, we will be opening bargaining up to observers so you can see what the bargaining process looks like. This will keep our process transparent and hold management accountable. Getting involved in bargaining your union contract is crucial because it ensures your voice and interests are represented in negotiations that directly impact your working conditions, benefits, and rights. You can find a guide on observing bargaining by using the link below.

We will share bargaining dates once we have them.

Become a unit rep!

We want every unit and shift to have at least one representative. Unit reps help keep nurses on their unit informed. They function as a connection between your Local unit officers and the nurses on your unit, so everyone stays in the loop regardless of their shift, schedule, or FTE. If you read your emails and texts, plan to attend bargaining as an observer and provide feedback to WSNA and your bargaining team, and know where the WSNA Central Local unit page is, you are already doing the work and would make a great local unit rep. Sign up for 1-hour virtual training to learn more about how you can help support your local unit.

Next training: Wednesday January 29 at 10 – 11 am and 7 – 8 pm. Email or text organizer Jenny Galassi, to learn more about what being a unit rep entails and sign up for training! jgalassi@wsna.org, 206-707-2948.

Share your WSNA pride!

Make sure to wear your WSNA blue shirts and “I support my bargaining team” stickers and pins on bargaining days. Soon you’ll find the buttons in a baggie on your WSNA bulletin board or at our next T shirt pickup! Let’s get ready to turn the hospital blue on bargaining days to show management that we’re united for a fair contract. Send any pictures of your unit decked out in blue to Central@wsna.org.

Get social!

  • Central nurses are now on Instagram!
  • Central nurses have a FB group. Get updates and interact with nurses when you have questions. It is also a great way to stay informed during negotiations. This is a closed FB group for the nurses in the Central bargaining unit. Ask to join and a moderator will add you to our group!
