Following a great first week of the 2018 legislative session, we wanted to provide you with a breakdown of how your Representatives voted on the Rest Breaks bill, HB 1715 – follow the link below to ask your Senators to support the bill. This week, WSNA provided testimony on HB 2436, which defines Community Health Workers. We have spent this week preparing to host 600 nurses and nursing students in Olympia on Monday for Nurse Legislative Day – we look forward to seeing you there!

Rest Breaks Bill: See how your Representatives voted
Last week, the House passed HB 1715 which would guarantee uninterrupted meal and rest breaks, and close the mandatory overtime loophole. The bill passed with bipartisan support, 56 – 42.
You can see how your Representatives voted here.
And it’s not too soon to ask your Senator to support HB 1715 as it moves over to the Senate.

WSNA Testifies on Community Health Workers bill
Thank you to Justin Gill, RN, for testifying on Tuesday morning in the House Health Care Committee. Justin spoke about WSNA’s concerns on HB 2436, which defines Community Health Workers. We appreciate the bill sponsor working with us to address our concerns.
Nurse Legislative Day is Monday!
