Presumptive Eligibility for Health Care Workers During a Public Health Emergency

WSNA is aware that COVID among the staff at Whidbey has been on the rise. It is important that you know your rights and how to claim coverage should you contract COVID-19.

There are a lot of questions that have been raised regarding presumptively eligibly for Health Care workers during the state of emergency. You do not have to use your sick or vacation time if you are required to stay home and meet the eligibility although you may elect to supplement what you are paid by L & I. Labor and Industries makes the determination about eligibility, not your employer. If you have used your sick or vacation, you can most likely still file a claim and have your time-off bank reimbursed.
