Great news! Wage increase! Time to VOTE!
Posted Jun 5, 2023
Your WSNA bargaining team is pleased to announce we have reached a tentative agreement on our wage reopener and is recommending a YES vote! Your team was able to secure important gains during bargaining. “Ghost” or missing steps will be filled in! There will be two additional steps beyond year 30! On top of the 4% wage increase in April, the tentative agreement provides between 7.3% to 12.6% wage increase depending on your current step for a total of 11.3% - 16.6% wage increases when you combine the two wage increases this year. The difference in wage increases for different steps is aimed at retention, recruitment and market competitiveness at each step. The increase would take effect in the next pay period with nurses seeing the increase on their June 23 paycheck. There is also a guaranteed 6% in 2024 with another wage reopener at that time. You can find the wage scale on your local unit web page or by using the link button below.
We will be holding a ratification vote on Monday, June 12 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in meeting room C. (Conference room C) You must be a member in good standing to vote. Voting is in-person only and no proxy voting is allowed. You canjoin online or join on the day of the vote. Join now so that you and your peers have a strong voice at Whidbey! Again, we are recommending a YES vote!
Also, your team met with management on 4 days over the past few months with one additional session being cancelled by management at the last minute. Your peers participated on their own time and had to take these days off work to attend. Any financial assistance you can provide in the form of donated PTO, would be greatly appreciated! Please support your team by donating PTO. Forms will be available online shortly, at HR or at the vote. You can donate in whole-hour increments for up to 21 days following the ratification vote.
