Registered nurses at Virginia Mason are not alone in their concerns about the proposed Joint Operating Company with CHI Franciscan. Many State Legislators have also expressed deep reservations about the proposed partnership and the impact it will likely have on accessing the full range of legal health services at Virginia Mason.
You can view the letter from State Legislators to the VM CEO by clicking the button below. It is also posted on the VM local unit web page.
Three elected officials who authored the letter to Dr. Kaplan and the Virginia Mason board; State Senator Manka Dhingra, Representative Nicole Macri, and Representative Eileen Cody want to hear directly from WSNA members your concerns about the proposed Joint Operating Company and its likely impact on the type of care provided in the region. The elected officials will also share ideas they have about health system mergers and acquisitions and what steps the State Legislature is considering to protect health care consumers.
