If we don't get a fair deal we're ready to walk!

PeaceHealth, here’s our proposal: invest in our nurses, invest in our community, and settle a fair contract. Watch the video below to hear our direct message to the PeaceHealth “sharks.”
Over the past two weeks, nurses have shown overwhelming support for taking action. Hundreds of nurses from every unit and shift have already pledged to picket so we can show PeaceHealth we’re in this fight together —and we’re just getting started. We’re ready to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, and send a clear message to PeaceHealth management: we are united, we are serious, and we are not backing down unless we get a fair contract.
Informational Picket — Tuesday, April 29
Today, we delivered our ten-day notice of an informational picket to management. On April 17 and 18, when we return to the bargaining table, we want management to understand that a sea of nurses and community members will be lining the street in front of PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center if we don’t reach a fair deal.
We’re also bringing the fight to the public. Join us tonight as bargaining unit nurses share our ten-day notice with the Whatcom County Council. Wear your WSNA blue and stand with us to show that the nurses of St. Joe’s mean business. The meeting starts at 1800 in the Council’s chamber at 311 Grand Avenue.
Picket Times:
- Morning Session: 0600–0900
- Afternoon Session: 1100–1300
- Rally at Noon
If you’re not working, plan to attend both sessions. Bring your coworkers, your family, your friends—even your dogs (on leashes)! Let’s make sure all of Whatcom County hears us loud and clear. Check out our FAQ for more details on what to expect at a picket.
If you're working that day, come before or after your shift—and come out on your meal and rest breaks. If you're not given a meal or rest break, fill out an ADO. Management needs to know we're tracking every violation.
Let’s Keep the Energy Going
We’ll be holding more sign-making parties as we build toward the picket. Dates and times TBD so stay tuned. Huge thanks to everyone who came out Sunday — your creativity was incredible, and it was powerful to connect outside the walls of the hospital.
Negotiations — April 17 and 18
We head back to the table later this week — this time with an informational picket looming. Let’s keep the pressure on management at the bargaining table and the hospital floor. Whether you’re working or joining us as an observer either day, wear your WSNA blue and tag us on Instagram at @wsna_stjobell.
Want to observe negotiations? Join us on Thursday, April 17. Be at the HEC no later than 0915. The more of us in the room, the stronger our message.
Questions? Contact WSNA Nurse Rep Jared Richardson at jrichardson@wsna.org or WSNA Organizer Sam Scholl at sscholl@wsna.org.
Together, we fight. Together, we win.
Let’s make April 29 a day PeaceHealth won’t forget.
