Update on step placement

Lots of questions surrounding this topic. Here is an update and what we know so far and how you can help to streamline the process.

  1.  Review of work experience to ascertain correct step placement for wages needs to be requested by the individual nurse. At this time, the plan is to do this through MyHR.
  2. A standard easy-to-complete form will be utilized to enable data entry into a spreadsheet that has been formulated to provide calculations. This form will be emailed to your work email address when finalized but no later than March 1, 2024.

Here’s what you can do to make things easier:

  1. First, update your resume or CV to reflect all your work experience as an RN. Some tips and hints: Include ALL your work experience including time spent as a manager, time in outpatient setting and any volunteer work that requires an RN license to perform. You will want to include your hire and term / resignation dates as this is what is used to calculate the experience. **NB** if your work experience overlaps by dates, it will only be credited once (i.e. if you had more than one employer at the same time).

FTEs are not a consideration, any leaves (FMLA etc.) are not a consideration, please just include your start and end dates per employer.
