Last chance for staffing committee nominations!
Posted Nov 26, 2019
Every unit needs TWO nurses on the committee to share the duties. Did you know this committee is legally required? (This is not a WSNA committee nor is it strictly a management committee.) Did you know this is paid time? Did you know your management and leadership is committed to having you attend this meeting?
The staffing committee is responsible for reviewing the staffing concern forms and working to find a solution to staffing issues. The staffing committee prepares the staffing matrix and ratio together with leadership. There is new legislation regarding mandatory overtime and rest breaks that go into effect January 1 that will impact staffing.
Currently the time required is one meeting every other month and your manager will find you coverage if you are working that day. Training is provided. Come be a part of the change you want to see! Nominate yourself and submit by Nov. 30. It can be scanned and emailed to Sue Dunlap at sdunlap@wsna.org or alternatively faxed to the main office at 206-575-1908.
If you have questions, Contact WSNA Nurse Representative Sue Dunlap at 206-575-7979, ext. 3005.
