Contract negotiation update
Posted Oct 24, 2019
We met with Tacoma General on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for our fourth contract bargaining session.
Both sides are taking the time to hear the rationale and need for proposals. We expressed to management our concerns about workplace violence and safety issues, addressed by our proposal to them for a workplace violence committee.
As a team, we had in-depth discussion on two proposals: a Baylor weekend shift for OR and peri-operative services, and a tiered in-house float pool.
Our next bargaining session is Monday, Oct. 28. We plan to discuss staffing ratios, healthcare benefits, and BSN premium.
We invite you to join as an observer. Generally the morning session will be 9:30 a.m. to noon and the afternoon session will be from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Space is limited for observers. If you would like to attend either or both sessions at the La Quinta in Tacoma, you must RSVP.
To RSVP, to join the TG RN secret Facebook group, or if you have questions or comments, email WSNA Nurse Representative Sydne James at sjames@wsna.org.
Better together,
Your 2019 WSNA Contract Bargaining Team
