OFFICER NOMINATIONS
It’s time for WSNA Officer Elections! Nominate yourself or a nurse who is a strong advocate for their patients and coworkers! Scan this QR code for more information. Submissions due by October 6, 2023.
TIMECLOCK CHANGES ARE COMING
Providence has stated that RNs will be required to clock in and out for all lunch breaks and that the current 15-minute rounding will be eliminated.
We have sent a demand to bargain as this directly affects your hours and working conditions.
CONTRACT BARGAINING
Your current contract expires in March 2024. You’ll soon be receiving a WSNA Negotiation Survey to your personal email on file. We encourage every nurse to fill this out and tell us what matters to YOU in this upcoming contract.
HAVE YOU BEEN DISCIPLINED?
Management has threatened to discipline and terminate employees for failing to complete education we didn’t bargain for.
We disagree with this process and have said so to HR. If you have been disciplined recently, please reach out to your nurse rep Alle Machorro.
ACTIVE INCENTIVES
We have TWO active Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)- one for nurses who pick up unfilled incentive shifts (expires 10/31/23). The other is for nurses who accept a temporary full- time assignment for either 6 or 12 weeks on night shift for a lump sum money.
WE'VE HEARD...
Management often tells nurses “We can’t offer raises or incentives due to the contract or due to WSNA”.
While wages, hours, and working conditions do need to be bargained, Providence St. Luke’s can ALWAYS reach out to us to offer better wages, raises, and incentives. The contract is the bare minimum they are held to, they can choose to do more for you and have not.
UNION PROUD
Nick McMicheals RN recently joined WSNA as a member and serves on your Nurse Staffing Committee. He is an amazing advocate for nurses and recognizes how important the collective voice of nurses is through WSNA!
