Reminder: To Access EIB for Mandated Quarantine, Contact Employee Health!
Posted Dec 12, 2023
It has been brought to our attention that some nurses have had difficulty accessing EIB immediately when they have to stay home for an illness. If you are ill and suspect that your illness requires mandatory quarantine per PeaceHealth policy (for example, if you suspect you have COVID), after you call in to your unit to report your absence, you need to email Employee Health next! They will determine your next steps as well as the amount of time that you are required to quarantine and will supply that information to your scheduler or timekeeper. If you have any issues with accessing EIB, or need to have PTO that was used to cover a mandated quarantine period refunded, HR will contact Employee Health to determine if you qualify under the EIB MOU.
Please let your WSNA Nurse Rep Grace Chesterman (gchesterman@wsna.org) know if you are having any ongoing issues accessing EIB or if you have any questions about how the MOU affects you.
Dec 14 - Hospital Staffing Committee 101
Everything you need to know about staffing committees and the new staffing law.
WSNA, SEIU 1199, and UFCW 3000 are joining together to present our next training on the new staffing law. The training on Dec. 14, 6-8 p.m. will teach you about the new law and hospital staffing committees. We’ll demystify what the staffing committee does and how it does its work.
The meeting link will be sent once you register.
By the end of this training you will be able to: Discuss the purpose and development of a team charter, understand the key elements of the hospital staffing committee law, and articulate timelines and dates relevant to the hospital staffing committee.
This training is open to all members and we hope to see you there!
Keep an eye out for details about upcoming trainings planned for 2024:
📌 February 2024: Training on negotiating your best possible staffing plan
📌 Late 2024: Training on compliance and accountability through your staffing committee
All trainings are online, relevant to where we are in the statewide rollout of the staffing law, and whenever possible will be recorded and shared for those who cannot attend live.
