Make your voice heard

Your officers know nurses are tired of empty words from administration claiming to value and respect those of us who have continued to care for our community despite unprecedented obstacles. The hospital claims to value retention of skilled nurses and a desire to retain them but have failed to take any action to prevent nurses from leaving. The nurses demand action now to show the employers commitment to retaining staff. Our ask is that administration respond as soon as possible with a good faith counteroffer to our proposal submitted on Dec. 29, 2021. Please sign the petition found in the link below. Lets stand together and tell administration we will be heard and we deserve a response!

Throughout the unprecedented years of the COVID pandemic the community we serve has continued to show their appreciation, respect, and immense gratitude for the nurses at Peacehealth Southwest who have continued to function as frontline caregivers despite a lack of equipment, supplies and most importantly staffing.

In stark contrast to our community, administrators at PeaceHealth Southwest have shown a lack of respect and appreciation for the nurses through actions such as increasing matrices at the beginning of the pandemic despite overwhelming nurse opposition, as well as removing unvaccinated nurses from schedules well before the state deadline leaving nurses short staffed at the peak of the delta wave. These actions combined with their recent inaction to respond to our proposal for a retention bonus structure, as well as hazard pay for nurses caring for COVID patients on Dec. 29 has left the nurses at PHSW feeling unheard, devalued, and disposable. The unfortunate result is many of our coworkers have left or are planning to leave PeaceHealth for other hospitals with signing bonuses or to lucrative traveling positions.

Take action now and make your voice heard!
