Important alert before you sign up for voluntary sabbatical program
Posted May 8, 2020
If you are considering volunteering for the PeaceHealth Sabbatical program, please be aware that you will NOT be eligible for unemployment under the current voluntary sabbatical program, and that once you sign on, you will be unable to revoke it.
WSNA is working hard to secure an agreement with administration to clarify that nurses volunteering for the “sabbatical” is equivalent to standby unemployment, aka a furlough or a short-term layoff, and are eligible for unemployment. We are scheduled to meet with PeaceHealth on Tuesday and will be aggressively following up on this issue. Please stay tuned for update and contact your WSNA Nurse Representative with any questions.
Real-time data on elective surgery/procedure readiness
As facilities reopen elective procedures and surgeries, the Governor has outlined specific prerequisites that employers “meet infection prevention and control standards, maintain appropriate personal protective equipment supplies, as well as following Department of Health (DOH)issued guidance on use of personal protective equipment (PPE).”
Please fill out this quick survey for WSNA to collect real time data to assess whether your health care facility has met the required threshold to perform elective procedures and surgeries.
