Coalition employees to get raises and bonuses. What about you?
Posted Dec 7, 2021
We are fighting for you!
WSNA is not part of the coalition and we bargain your contract (Collective Bargaining Agreement) separately. We finished bargaining your current CBA in Dec. 2020 and it expires Dec. 31, 2022. Your WSNA officers and nurse rep are aware of the new coalition labor agreement, and we have been in contact with the county.
King County has agreed to meet on Dec. 17, 2021 to bargain over additional benefits for you. We have made it clear to them that we want to discuss getting you the same economic gains as what the coalition bargained for. This includes a three percent general wage increase Jan. 1, 2022, two additional holidays, and a one-time bonus. We will keep you updated when we have more information.
What can you do? You can be vocal that you deserve the same wage increase, the same additional holidays, and the same bonus as the other employees are receiving. You are entitled by law to discuss issues that matter to you during work time, so long as it does not interfere with your work or interrupt patient care. It will not hurt if your manager or supervisor or division director knows that you want these additional benefits. If you are silent, they might think this is not important to you.
