Bargaining Update - Day 5

Today your bargaining team met with management for our fifth day at the bargaining table. We made a comprehensive proposal that included all of your priorities: more sustainable call schedules, less floating away from your home units, and competitive wages that help us retain the nurses on staff and recruit new nurses to fill gaps in staffing. There was good news and bad news today.

The good news:

We had productive conversations with management about digital scheduling – we were joined by a team of unit schedulers who helped us explain the vital role they play in building schedules that work for everyone. Management said they’d review our proposals about digital scheduling before next session and we hope to have more to share with you soon.

The bad news:

Management isn’t budging on some of our priority issues. That means we need your help to show them just how important those things are to nurses throughout our bargaining unit. We’ll be rolling out two new ways for you to get involved at this week’s virtual local unit meeting – join us on Wednesday night to learn more about how you can show we’re all in this together.
