- Overlake intends to establish an Urgent Care Response Team (“URT”) in its Inpatient Surgical Services unit (“IPS”). The URT will provide a team of qualified nurses (and surgical techs) to serve as an immediate response resource when needed. The nurses will work an innovative work.
- URT nurses will be expected to begin their regular shifts at their residence. It is anticipated that there will be periods when no active work duties are required. At all times while on shift, URT nurses will be required to respond immediately to calls and to arrive at the Hospital within sixty (60) minutes of the call.
- Time spent by URT nurses working their regular URT shift, including time where no active work duties were performed, will be paid at regular rates of pay for a scheduled regular shift when the nurse works their normal workday and work period.
- URT nurses will be expected to be proficient in all service lines (excluding cardiothoracic) and will be required to maintain clinical competency.
- A copy of the MOU will be available to review at the vote.
