Bonus premium extended through June 4, 2023

Overlake has provided notice that the Hourly Incentive Shift program will continue through June 4, 2023. This article in the WSNA contract also applies:
Article 12.11 Bonus Shifts
In the event that the Hospital offers a bonus or premium above that required by the contract for work on shifts that have not been filled after the schedule has been posted, the Hospital shall post in advance of offering the premium or bonus the following information on the intranet: the units that are eligible for the bonus or premium, the start and end dates of the program, the amount of the bonus or premium, and other requirements associated with the premium or bonus.
RN Bonus Shifts – Hourly/Short Notice
Overlake is experiencing a period of high patient volume combined with a significant number of employee vacancies. In order to address anticipated staffing shortages, Overlake is offering an additional bonus premium.
EXTENDED THROUGH June 4, 2023
1. RN Bonus shifts will be paid at $35.00/hr.
2. All other contract required pay will be observed, including all premiums, differentials, and overtime beyond scheduled shift as outlined in Section 10.5 of the Overlake collective bargaining agreement1.
3. All current nursing departments are eligible. Departmental leadership will designate nursing shifts that are eligible for the bonus based on shortages and needs.
4. To sign up for extra shifts, RN’s need to send an email to your Nurse Manager (or designee).
5. Increased bonus shifts will be offered from August 2, 2021 – October 10, 2021, extended through June 4, 2023.
6. Bonus shifts will only be offered for non-regularly scheduled shifts.
7. Bonus shifts will only be offered for shifts that are considered a critical shortage or a critical skill mix deficit.
8. Bonus shift pay is not paid in addition to standby/call back or preceptor pay.
9. To be eligible for bonus shift payment, all staff must meet their FTE or pre-scheduling requirement. The following count toward fulfillment of an FTE requirement:
Paid time off (PTO), EIB, Low census.
10. All bonus amounts are gross amounts and subject to taxes and other deductions.
1 Section 10.5 of the WSNA Collective Bargaining Agreement: Overtime shall be compensated for at the rate of one-and-one-half (1- 1/2) times the regular rate of pay for all time worked beyond the normal workday or normal work period. Most extra shifts qualify for this overtime premium. Dimensions code Overtime Scheduled should be used for each approved short notice bonus pay shift together with the Incentive Premium code.
