Negotiation Update Day 1
Posted Feb 3, 2023
Hello WSNA nurses,
On Feb. 2, your WSNA bargaining team met with management for our first full day of bargaining our new contract. WSNA presented our comprehensive proposal focusing on the priorities you have identified: economics, PTO, Overtime, and retirement. We received our first set of proposals and counter offers from management except for economics. We have made tentative agreements on several proposals excluding economics which we expect management to counter next week when we meet again at the table.
We have had some discussions about the current scheduling process and how we could make potential changes to enhance the current practice. If you have any specific requests regarding what that process should/could look like, please email your nurse representative Mara Kieval with that information.
We meet again next week and are hopeful to make progress and will send updates after each bargaining session. We will send out all communications via email, so please make sure your current home email address is on file and you are receiving our emails (and they aren’t going to your junk or spam folders). You can update your email address by notifying Mara Kieval or emailing membership@wsna.org.
Our strength as a bargaining unit and our ability to negotiate the best wages and contract language are directly impacted by the number of nurses who are members. If you are not currently a member you can find an application at www.wsna.org. Only WSNA nurse members can vote on the contract.
Please contact Mara Kieval for any questions or concerns at mkieval@wsna.org or 206-575-7979 ext. 3051.
In solidarity,
Your negotiation team,
Angalyn Brown
