Staffing Committee
We had a great showing of nurses at the staffing committee meeting on June 5, this led to a great discussion regarding pattern schedules and now we need to keep pressing on this issue. We need a nurse from each unit who is willing to step up and speak up for their unit on the staffing committee. If you are interested, please contact our organizer Zach Seikel at zseikel@wsna.org. We saw the importance of nurse participation in June, let’s not stop having management hear your voice. If you have filed an ADO or are interested in coming to the next meeting on July 10 at 0800, please click the link below:
Pattern Schedule Grievance
Many of the nurses who have worked at Northwest Hospital since before integration have a patterned schedule. We want these patterns to be maintained and offered to all nurses who would prefer this schedule type. We have an Association grievance on this issue and the meeting will be held with multiple managers on July 11 at 11 a.m., we need nurses to attend. If you need to be released for this meeting ,please contact your manager directly. To join the meeting please use the link below:
PACU and Nurses who take Call
We have been fighting long and hard for nurses to maintain the right to take call before and directly after a regularly scheduled shift. We need to speak with any nurse required to take especially PACU to discuss our next steps. We will be having a town hall meeting on Monday, July 17 at 2030. I hope to see as many nurses as possible. Missed Meal and Rest Breaks
If you are a nurse working at one of the outpatient clinics, and you have missed your meal or rest break in the last 3 years, please let us know, we need to know who has missed breaks and has not been compensated. Please send the dates you worked, the type of break missed either a 15-minute or 30-minute lunch and we will add your information to our grievance.
