Negotiation update
Posted Feb 17, 2021
Your WSNA negotiation team and management have agreed to try an expedited negotiation process by discussing only a few issues and keeping the rest of the contract the same. This would preserve the existing sick and annual leave benefits and would NOT include a transition to the Short-Term Disability program. If this process does not work out, we will convert to traditional negotiations.
We had our first meeting on 2/15/21. The topics we have agreed upon to discuss are wages, health insurance and the length of the contract. We also contemplating a framework for discussing short term disability options during the life of the contract, but any changes would have to mutually agreeable to WSNA and PHFH. We would have no obligation to agree to any changes to our current sick and annual leave or to transition to the STD program.
We are hopeful this expedited contract process will lead us to a tentative agreement that we can present to all of you for a vote. Our next session is scheduled for 2/25/21. Please watch for an update. If you have questions, contact a member of the negotiation team or WSNA Nurse Representative Shawn Reed, sreed@wsna.org.
