Bargaining Day 12
Posted May 22, 2024
We were back at negotiations on May 14 for a full day with the team. We were fortunate to have Edna Cortez, WSNA Local Executive Council Chair and Paul Stamilio Confluence Central Co-Chair sit in to observe the bargaining session.
The room was full of support signs from WSNA bargaining units across the state.
We discussed floating, equitable rotation, orientation check list, scheduled PTO approval process, EIB and staffing committee as well as other items.
Our next bargaining sessions are Monday June 10, Wednesday June 12 and Friday June 21, 2024.
Join us as an observer if you can. Your presence makes a difference. Come for the half day or full day. Snacks and drinks will be provided. If you have not received your WSNA T shirt, pick yours up at the next bargaining session! Reach out to a bargaining team member for more details or WSNA Organizer Jenny Galassi, 206-707-2948.
Membership
We continue to build unity and stand together. 5 more nurses joined WSNA this week! Thank you to Local unit officer Marshall Snoddy for sending those in. Becoming a member today is a crucial part of showing Confluence we stand together. It also provides a platform for solidarity, ensuring that employees have a unified voice at the bargaining table and advocate for their rights in the workplace.
Our new online application launched in January, and we’ve gotten great feedback so far! Let us know what you think.
If you prefer, fill out a paper application, take a picture and email it to Jenny Galassi, jgalassi@wsna.org and give the hardcopy to a bargaining team member.
*Member dues cannot be deducted until we have a full tentative agreement on our first contract and your bargaining unit votes to approve it. We’ll let you know when that’s coming. Until then, becoming a member shows management the team has your support.
Unit Liaison training
Local unit liaisons help keep nurses on their unit informed. They function as a connection between your Local unit officers and the nurses on your unit, so everyone stays in the loop regardless of their shift, schedule, or FTE. If you read your emails and texts, attend bargaining as an observer, provide feedback to WSNA and your bargaining team, and know where the WSNA Mares Local unit page is, you are already doing the work and would make a great local unit liaison. Sign up for 1-hour virtual training to learn more about how you can help support your local unit.
Next training: Monday, June 3, 7-8 pm. Please reach out to your Local unit officers or WSNA Organizer Jenny Galassi, 206-707-2948 to get signed up!
