Contract Bargaining Continues
Posted Dec 18, 2024
Your WSNA team of registered nurses met with AMR leadership and their lead negotiator for a third session on Tuesday, December 17.
Both parties have now exchanged comprehensive proposals and we are working on reaching tentative agreements on portions of these proposals.
Both parties exhibited interest in making movement towards what will eventually be a tentative agreement on an entire contract prior to going to a vote of the WSNA members (You!).
WSNA has stressed the importance of competitive wages for CCT RNs.
We also recognize the challenges of recruitment and retention due to the fact that the employer has been unwilling to offer 1:1 recognition credit for years of experience as an RN.
We have made proposals that would not only recognize the years of experience for newly hired RNs so that they are placed on the appropriate step, but we also are working to ensure that RNs currently working at AMR receive this credit as well.
So far, the employer has resisted this proposal.
While WSNA continues to assess the priorities of our RNs, we will continue to bargain until we have an agreement we are proud to present to our members for vote.
We are currently working on dates for our next bargaining session and vow to keep all members informed along the way.
