By the overwhelming vote of 174-17, we ratified our tentative agreement. The Board of Commissioners meets on Wednesday, August 14 to ratify the TA on their end. After they do, this contract (including our historic raises!) becomes effective September 2.

Thank you to everyone who turned out to vote, who stayed to count, and who generously donated annual leave to the bargaining team (you have until August 21 to make a donation – find any bargaining team member or WSNA Nurse Rep Sue Dunlap at sdunlap@wsna.org).

And if you’re feeling that the contract wasn’t good enough, should have been better, or just didn’t adequately reflect our value – get involved. Our membership and engagement grew during our fight. Just imagine how much stronger we will be if 100% of Skagit nurses were members and if every unit has union reps. T minus 2 years and 9 months until this contract expires – get on board, we’ve got work to do.

In solidarity,
Liz Rainaud, FBC  and WSNA local unit chair
Rachel Yates, Family Medicine and WSNA local unit treasurer
Kim McCann, FBC  and WSNA local unit membership officer
Kyla Malean , OR  and Negotiating team member
Lacey Bernick, PERI OP  and Negotiating team member
